Alvaro has a passion for problem solving and improving areas of the business, whether that is re-structuring an existing capability or building one from scratch, he is happiest when tackling a complex puzzle and working with motivated and talented people around him. A firm believer of developing people and putting them first, he believes that doing right by people will have long-term organisational benefits. A huge believer in the power of ‘us’ and not ‘I’ he believes that you can get more done and have more fun when working as a cohesive team. With an interest in all thing’s leadership, he also gets a lot out of developing his teams and watching them thrive, both personally and professionally.
Originally from New Zealand, he has also lived and worked in Australia and the UK.
Although his career started down the medical route, a career diversion led him to pursue all things business. Before starting at Laminar he has primarily worked for the UK MOD as an internal business consultant, working on and leading a range of consultancy projects, from digitalisation programmes through to the restructuring of military police and establishing a new human performance capability for the Army, he has been involved across the enterprise on multiple high-profile projects.
