Richard is passionate about travelling: a lead driver for him is finding ways to afford the purchase of more aeroplane tickets (with CO2 offsetting or Eco fuel). His strive for success and pushing the limits started at the age of three when he began skiing and has carried in all his undertakings.
He believes that embracing digitalization and removing repetitive, archaic methods from the AEC industry, is the only way for it to catch up with the 21st century and attract the talent it needs by providing a standard of living not significantly influenced by inflationary activities.
Originally from Bulgaria, Richard graduated with a Master’s in Civil and Structural Engineering at the University of Cambridge. He reached the finals of the CIOB Student Construction Management challenge in Toronto leading his team to rank among the Top 4 teams. He moved to London and worked for the Australian Robert Bird Group with tenures at 21 Moorfield’s, Battersea Phase 3A and One Leadenhall before becoming a UK citizen and moving to Frankfurt. In the last two years, Richard led the engineering side of a project by Herzog & de Meuron in South Korea and delivered it with a 27% margin.
