Raquel believes remarkable people, robust planning, and a steadfast commitment to delivery excellence are the cornerstones of high performance in any project.
She has a can-do and no-nonsense approach to project management, and she’s happiest when she’s immersed in a collaborative and cohesive team.
Raquel is originally from Lisbon, Portugal. She spent some of her childhood years living in Abu Dhabi, and then returned to Portugal to finish school and her Civil Engineering degree. She’s lived and worked in Portugal, Ireland, and Canada.
She has worked in project delivery and commercial advisory for contractors, designers, and end-clients in various project phases. She enjoyed the early stages of her career building highways and bridges in Portugal, her work in exciting transit projects in Dublin, Ottawa, and Toronto, and setting the groundwork for the first Alliance delivery in Canada.
• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Masters in Business Administration
• Raquel speaks Portuguese, English and a bit of Spanish and French (she’s brushing up on her French with a steady streak in Duolingo).
• Sun, sand, and salt water are the trifecta of her happiness. She likes to doodle and to scribble, and she’s made a few attempts at learning to play the ukulele.
• She’s always enthusiastic about learning new stuff, solving problems, and a chance for some banter over a gin and tonic.
