Meet The Team

Do you have a few great people on your project team that seem to take the initiative to drive delivery and bring innovative ideas to do things better? Well that’s who our people are.

Ruvinde Kooragamage

Associate Director • Project Management Consulting

What Drives Him

Ruvinde embraces the Japanese philosophy of ‘Kaizen’ on both business and personal levels. This philosophy of continuous improvement enables him to regularly challenge himself and others around him whilst being open to new approaches.

He finds passion in developing teams through empowerment and by devoting time to understand team dynamics. He's often drawn to a white board to share his vision for developing and strategising a route to project execution. He enjoys building synergy with his team to drive project certainty and delivery.

He takes great interest in understanding his clients' markets and how their construction projects align with their overall business strategy for operational readiness. He is particularly keen on providing strategic advice on construction variability prior to execution.

He's a strong advocate for maximising opportunities with technology, having been involved on a pilot project with RFID technology and BIM integration for a major landmark project in the City of London.

Backstory and Achievements

Ruvinde completed his education at University College London. He's a Chartered Construction Manager and a Member of the Association of Project Management. He joined Laminar after developing his experience with tier-one principal contractors and high-end residential and commercial developers.

He's worked on a wide portfolio of projects ranging from £40 million – £800 million through various stages of the project lifecycle. His typical projects ranged from high-rise developments, clean rooms, and filming studios to heavy civils.

On his most recent project he developed a bespoke package-tracking tool to provide enhanced subcontractor transparency. Ruvinde deployed this tool project-wide through a governance management plan by nominating appropriate project members for monthly management.

In 2013 he presented a conference paper based on his MSc research on ‘The role of using a tablet computer for mobile communication on construction sites’ at the International Consortium of Construction Engineering and Project Management in California.
