What drives Genan, above all else, is curiosity. She is curious about why things go wrong, why uncertainty is so unsettling to people, and how human beings have developed — over thousands of years of evolution — the psychological tools to cope with the unknown. That curiosity found a natural home in construction projects, where complexity and uncertainty are constants. Rather than accepting chaos as an unavoidable feature of projects, Genan is driven to understand it, break it down, and build systematic ways of identifying, quantifying, and managing risk. Curiosity, for her, is not just a personality trait — it is the engine behind her professional practice.
Genan started her career as a civil (geotechnical) engineer, but her curiosity consistently pulled her beyond the technical. She moved through project management and risk management before arriving at project controls — each role a deliberate choice to see the industry from a different angle and challenge her own assumptions. That journey has taken her across some of the most complex sectors in infrastructure, including rail, nuclear, defence, water, and highways. That cross-disciplinary and cross-sector experience is what she considers her greatest asset, translating that hard-won perspective into better outcomes for the teams and organisations she serves.

Genan is a cat parent, an avid traveller, a passionate home cook, and an enthusiastic reader. She finds that exploring new cultures — whether through food, travel, books, or conversation — feeds the same curiosity that drives her professionally.
