As a curious human being, Rute is always trying to better comprehend the environment and the people around her. She believes in the power of human relationships, and she always aims to foster positive connections.
If there is such thing as a mission in life, Rute believes that hers has to do with helping others develop and become a better version of themselves - she thinks there is nothing more beautiful than seeing other person bloom.
Learning new things is Rute’s favorite hobby, whether it's to improve her professional skills or the personal ones.
After graduating, Rute worked as a clinical psychologist at a therapeutic community, with adolescents with substance use problems, and then she was one of the coordinators at a foster care home for children and adolescents. She also developed her private practice working with children, adolescents and adults.
Since 2021 she was working at an American company that provides employee assistance programs to employees from companies worldwide. Rute started by providing psychological support to the employees, and then she embraced the role of clinical trainer, where she was responsible to train other counsellors for the role. One of the biggest achievements was to contribute to the opening of a new service center in South America, participating in the recruitment process, translation of the training materials, and providing training and support to new counsellors in Uruguay and Mexico.
• Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, sub-specialisation in Cognitive and Behavioral Interventions.
• Travelling is mandatory in her life, so Rute is always planning her next trip (sometimes while she is still returning from the current one!).
• Rute loves cooking, so being in the kitchen testing new recipes and being creative is one of her ways to self-care. At the same time, she also loves eating and trying new foods, from different countries.
• If Rute could have a superpower, it will be mastering all the languages in the world, so she could communicate with everyone in every situation! She speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish, and currently she is learning Italian.
