There was a lack of detailed design information which was preventing the client from preparing the programme to a sufficient level of detail. There were also difficulties in clearly understanding the deliverables from the design programme and, at times, there was a shortage of effective communication and engagement with the end client.
We engaged with the project team to identify the best way of sequencing the construction programme.
By working together with all parties, we developed a series of approved programme revisions based on the new design release dates provided by the designer.
We also reviewed the available ECI information (BoQ and drawings) and prepared a construction programme in P6 and a 4D video using Synchro, providing a visual representation of the construction phasing and a clear demonstration of sequence.
We provided high-level summary programmes and detailed what-if scenario programmes which allowed the project team to better assess the implications of the moving design release dates.
We also facilitated meetings with the design and project team which were critical to reach final consensus over the various project options and finally achieve a clear schedule with deliverables.
Finally, and most important of all, our involvement helped our client win the tender.
