What Drives Him
João is a construction project manager who has been called all-terrain by some colleagues: equally at home in engineering, production and commercial settings, he’s driven by an acute curiosity to understand and master all aspects involved in delivering successful industrial construction projects.
Back Story and Achievements
Originally from Portugal, he has spent most of his life moving across continents, having lived and worked in various countries across Europe, Africa and South and Central America.
Starting as a lead engineer for Power Plant projects, he has worked across disciplines and project phases in various industries, including Renewables, Oil&Gas, Industrial Cooling and Emissions controls. The broad scope of his work ultimately led him to take on project management responsibilities, where he draws upon this diverse experience to quickly identify the key issues and establish productive working relationships with all stakeholders.
He has previously worked for Ferrostaal, Abengoa and Hamon, where he has managed projects worth up to 35 MEUR each, from the design phase up to final commissioning and plant operation.
